Withdrawal Process

Students who wish to withdraw from a class after the census date, should send an email to their instructor using their VGCC email address. In the email they should clearly request to be withdrawn from the class and provide any reason for the withdrawal. The instructor will initiate an online withdrawal for the student that results in a “W” grade. In compliance with VGCC electronic signature policy, instructors cannot initiate a withdrawal for a student if the request is not from a VGCC email address.

Students should refer to the Academic Calendar for the withdrawal deadlines.

Students who request to withdraw after the deadline will receive a “F” grade.
