Scholarships

At VGCC, we value our students’ academic success. That is why we not only offer scholarships from generous donors to our Endowment Fund, but also from sources outside of the College who want to see our students succeed as well.

There are a couple of things that you should know before applying for a scholarship.

  • Scholarships are considered gift aid or “free money.” However, they are still a type of financial aid and must be reported to the Financial Aid Office. That isn’t a bad thing, as the Financial Aid Office will apply the scholarship to your tuition and fees. If you are receiving a private student loan (money you have to pay back), your loan amount may be adjusted to make room for this free money.
  • You must apply for scholarships. You will not be awarded them automatically at VGCC. Endowment scholarships require that you already be admitted to VGCC and that a username and password has been assigned to you in order to access the application.Apply for Scholarships Button
