Scholarships
Things to Know Before Applying
At VGCC, we value our students’ academic success. That is why we not only offer scholarships from generous donors to our VGCC Foundation, but also from sources outside of the College who want to see our students succeed as well.
There are a couple of things that you should know before applying for a scholarship:
- Scholarships are considered gift aid or “free money.” If you receive a private student loan (money you must pay back), your loan amount may be adjusted to accommodate this free money.
- You must apply for scholarships. Please be aware of deadlines
- Scholarships should NOT charge you a fee to apply. Beware of scams.
- If awarded a scholarship other than from the VGCC Foundation, please send a copy of your award letter to the Financial Aid office at [email protected]. Any checks should be mailed to the VGCC, attn: Business Office, PO Box 917, Henderson, NC 27536.
