The VGCC Textbook + Program takes the hassle out of getting your course materials because costs are covered as part of the charges on your school statement. This allows students in participating classes access to all required materials on the first day of class. Once you have selected your courses, your course list will be sent to the Campus Bookstore. The Campus Bookstore gets everything ready for you. All you need to do is check your school email for how to access your course materials for the term.
Students registered in participating classes automatically enrolled in the VGCC Textbook + Program. Please see our List of Included Classes (pdf)
. Students who would like to review the option to opt-out of the program, please review the FAQ titled “Is the program required or can I Opt-Out of the program”.
The Cengage Unlimited materials will be available through Moodle for participating classes. No action is needed on your part!
You will receive digital materials accessed in Moodle.
Only materials identified by your professor as “required” are included in the VGCC Textbook + Program. All “recommended” materials will be available for purchase separately at the Vance-Granville Campus Bookstore.
Required materials are supplied at the beginning of each term. The materials will be accessible on or before the first day of class when the Moodle class shell opens. Please continue to check your school email before the start of each term.
If you add or drop a course, that information is automatically transmitted to the VGCC Bookstore. For added courses, Digital materials will be emailed to your school email account or provisioned directly into Moodle. Please allow 24-48 hours after adding a new course to allow the information to transmit and for a team member to ready those materials.
The total amount will be $133.43 ($124.99 subscription fee plus $8.44 sales tax). This amount covers a 4-month period of access.
Yes! Students can save up to 60% or 80% based on savings at other schools and thanks to the campus store relationships with publishing partners and bulk purchasing power. The program also reduces student stress during the purchasing process and provides a method to easily access, manage and use all course materials regardless of format or cost.
Students are not required to participate in the VGCC Textbook+ program. Some students may find it more cost effective to purchase a 12-month Cengage Unlimited subscription from the bookstore or to source textbooks another way; VGCC encourages our students to source required course materials in the way that works best for their unique needs. Students who opt-out of the VGCC Textbook + Program are responsible for finding and purchasing their required course materials on their own. All materials will be available at the VGCC Bookstore
. where you can pick from different format and pricing options.
All students are automatically included in the VGCC Textbook + Program; however, students may opt-out of the program during specified opt-out periods. You will have the option to opt out of the VGCC Textbook + Program at the start of each term.
