Policies and Procedures
Introduction
The following Administrative Policies are designed to guide employer-employee practices at Vance-Granville Community College. This manual includes College policies approved by the board, as well as College procedures, in cases where the procedures would be consistent throughout the College. Other procedures for College policies may be found in related program handbooks or may be obtained by contacting the appropriate Vice President.
An attempt has been made to ensure equity to all individuals and to protect the interests of the employer, the employee, and the student. The policies, benefits, and working conditions outlined in this Administrative Policy Manual will be applied at the discretion of Vance-Granville Community College. The College reserves the right to deviate from, change or withdraw policies, benefits and working conditions at any time for any reason without prior notice.
As a condition of their employment, all full-time and part-time employees are subject to, and expected to follow the policies within this manual. An updated copy of this policy manual is available and all employees are granted access through the intranet.
The College will make every effort to notify employees when an official change in policy has been made, including but not limited to notification through internal communication channels. Employees are, however, responsible for knowing and understanding College policies and for staying informed about changes. Updates will be listed on the College intranet as they become available. The statements in this publication are not to be regarded as an irrevocable contract between the College and its students or employees. This Administrative Policy Manual is not a contract of employment, nor is it intended to create contractual obligations of any kind for the College. These policies will be evaluated annually and changes will be made by the administration as necessary.
