#DYK? The Career & College Promise program allows North Carolina high school students to dual-enroll at their local community college (that's us!) and start earning college credit before they've even gotten their high school diploma—tuition free! 🎓🤑
Learn about CCP opportunities for Vance, Granville, Franklin, and Warren students at www.vgcc.edu/high-schoolExciting News GCPS Family!
We would like to share an exciting opportunity for our high school students through the Career & College Promise Program, in partnership with Vance-Granville Community College.
Career & College Promise, or CCP, allows eligible high school students to take college courses completely FREE while still in high school. This includes tuition, books, and required course materials at no cost to families.
Students may choose from college transfer pathways, designed for students planning to attend a four-year college or university. These courses include classes like English, math, biology, psychology, and history, and the credits can transfer directly to many North Carolina universities.
Students may also choose Career and Technical Education, or CTE pathways, which focus on hands-on, career-ready skills. Examples include courses in health sciences, nursing fundamentals, welding, automotive technology, information technology, cybersecurity, early childhood education, and skilled trades—many leading to industry credentials and high-demand careers.
High school registration is happening now, and we encourage families to talk with their students about their interests and future goals. Students should reach out to their school counselor as soon as possible for guidance on eligibility, course options, and next steps.
This program is a tremendous opportunity for students to earn college credit, explore careers, and save thousands of dollars—all while still in high school.
