Transfer Equivalencies

Above are some of the most common North Carolina four-year university courses and their Vance-Granville Community College transfer equivalencies. Please note that this list is not comprehensive. Equivalencies and requirements may change without notice.

Courses are considered equivalent when they are deemed equal in both content and credit hours to offerings at VGCC. Certain selective programs of study may also have time restrictions on course transfer eligibility.

Evaluation of transfer credit requires the submittal of an official transcript. No grade lower than a “C” will be transferred.  Transfer credit may not exceed 75% of the total credit hours required to complete the desired program of study.

This information is intended to be a guide to show which courses successfully completed at the senior institution may transfer to VGCC. Students transferring VGCC credits elsewhere should consult with the receiving institution to determine how transfer credit is accepted.

Continuing Education-Curriculum Awarded Credit

Students enrolled in pre-approved continuing education training courses may request awarded credit in corresponding curriculum programs. The student must first register, pay and pass the continuing education course with a grade of satisfactory. In order to request awarded credit, the student must be enrolled in the corresponding curriculum program.

The credit will be awarded by the appropriate department with a grade of “PR” Prior Learning Credit. The credit hours of the course will count toward graduation.
