Ambassadors

Vance-Granville’s Community College Student Ambassadors are a prestigious team of VCCC’s top student leaders who participate in special events in an official capacity. These students act as liaisons between the college and prospective students, their families, guests, alumni, business partners and friends of the college. The Ambassador program provides student leaders to assist in VCCC Endowment efforts, college outreach efforts, campus wide events, and promote the image of Vance-Granville Community College.

Advisor is Jermiel Hargrove (Main Campus, Room 2107-C).


Human Services Technology Club

The Human Services Technology club’s purpose is to inspire students to reach their highest potential in their personal and professional lives by helping themselves and others. Students will be provided with opportunities for professional growth as well as opportunities to apply skills learned in the surrounding communities. Membership is open to all currently enrolled Human Service Technology and Criminal Justice Technology/Public Safety Administration and Paralegal Technology programs.

Advisors are Michele McLeod and Gabrielle Taylor .


Men’s Achievement Academy

The purpose of the Men’s Achievement Academy is to provide intentional support to male students that will empower them to accomplish their academic and career goals. The club will focus on the pillars of Brotherhood, Scholarship, Professionalism, Service & Leadership.

Advisor is Jason Snelling and Marque Debnam


National Student Nurses Association

With a membership of approximately 58,000 nationwide, the National Student Nurses Association mentors the professional development of future registered nurses and facilitates their entrance into the profession by providing educational resources, leadership opportunities, and career guidance. This looks great on resumes and future employers love to see this.

Psychology Club

The purpose of this club is to provide opportunities for Vance Granville Community College students to encounter experiences not possible in the classroom, and to encourage informal interaction between Vance Granville Community College students with a diverse community.  In addition, the organization hopes to provide the campus and local community with opportunities to promote Vance Granville Community College. The club invites VGCC students from all disciplines and backgrounds who are interested in psychological issues to join.

Phi Theta Kappa

The purpose of the Alpha Sigma Chi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. The society provides opportunity for the development of leadership and service, an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, lively fellowship for scholars, and stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence. Membership is by invitation only. Students must currently be enrolled in a regionally accredited institution offering an associate degree program, have completed at least 12 hours of course work leading to an associate degree, and have a grade point average of 3.5. Members are sent invitations in fall and/or spring semesters and inducted during Spring Semester only.

Student Government Association

The Student Government Association is designed to promote the general welfare of the college in a democratic fashion and to facilitate communication among the student body, the faculty, and the administration. Student government provides a means through which students can promote interest in student activities both on and off campus. Representatives are elected both by department and by student organization. Meetings are held in Building 8 Conference Room, and everyone is invited to attend.

Vance-Granville’s Initiative on Equity for Women of Color (V.I.E.W)

Our mission is to support the success of Women of Color at VGCC through education, empowerment, experience, and exposure in order to significantly increase the persistence and retention rate as well as improve job attainment.

Advisor is Dr. Krystal Foxx .


Vanguard Entrepreneurship Club

The Vanguard Entrepreneurship Club seeks to connect students with business professionals to assist in conceiving successful business/entrepreneurial ideas. This club will allow students to examine and discuss ideas that solve real-world problems from an entrepreneurial mindset approach.

Advisor is Kyle Burwell .
