Vance-Granville’s Community College Student Ambassadors are a prestigious team of VCCC’s top student leaders who participate in special events in an official capacity. These students act as liaisons between the college and prospective students, their families, guests, alumni, business partners and friends of the college. The Ambassador program provides student leaders to assist in VCCC Endowment efforts, college outreach efforts, campus wide events, and promote the image of Vance-Granville Community College.

Human Services Technology Club

The purpose of this club is to educate and provide opportunities for the professional growth and development of the Human Services Technology Student at VGCC in supportive of the academic mission of the college. The focus is on educating, inspiring, and supporting personal and professional development and success, networking, peer support, and community service. Male Mentoring

The Male Mentoring Club is designed to assist first-year students in acquiring the confidence, resources and skills needed to succeed academically and socially at Vance-Granville Community College. The club places emphasis on academic success and also addresses retention and transitional issues that impact college student development. The club is open to all males enrolled in the college.
Advisor is Jeffrey Allen

National Student Nurses Association

With a membership of approximately 58,000 nationwide, the National Student Nurses Association mentors the professional development of future registered nurses and facilitates their entrance into the profession by providing educational resources, leadership opportunities, and career guidance. This looks great on resumes and future employers love to see this. Meetings are held the on the last Monday of every month at 12:20 p.m. in Room 5215, Building 5.

Pharmacy Technology Club

The purpose of this club is stimulating interest in, and providing a social forum for pharmacy technology throughout the community college. Club members will engage in activities that promote their ability to locate jobs in their desired field by networking with the appropriate agencies. The Pharmacy Technology Club provides opportunities for students, and other interested participants, to expand their understanding of pharmacy technology.
Advisor is Dr. Erica Fleming (Room 5239).

Phi Theta Kappa

The purpose of the Alpha Sigma Chi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. The society provides opportunity for the development of leadership and service, an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, lively fellowship for scholars, and stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence. Membership is by invitation only. Students must currently be enrolled in a regionally accredited institution offering an associate degree program, have completed at least 12 hours of course work leading to an associate degree, and have a grade point average of 3.5. Members are sent invitations in fall and/or spring semesters and inducted during Spring Semester only.

Radiography Club

This club is open to students enrolled in the Radiography Program, both first and second level. Its functions include fellowship between Main Campus and South Campus, planned activities, and fundraising. Because the club involves students from two class levels and two campuses, the entire club does not meet often. However, elected representatives from each level at each campus will routinely meet with the faculty advisor to represent their classes in planning functions. Meetings rotate between Main and South Campuses.

Student Government Association

The Student Government Association is designed to promote the general welfare of the college in a democratic fashion and to facilitate communication among the student body, the faculty, and the administration. Student government provides a means through which students can promote interest in student activities both on and off campus. Representatives are elected both by department and by student organization. Meetings are held in Building 8 Conference Room, and everyone is invited to attend.
Advisor is Jermiel Hargrove (Main Campus, Room 2107-C).

Student Association of Medical Assistants

The purpose of SAMA is to promote the health profession of Medical Assisting and to promote health education in the four-county area. Members may attend local, state, and national meetings of the American Association of Medical Assistants. Members also organize several fund raisers each year. Proceeds are used for club activities as well as to help charitable organizations in the community. The club meets monthly at the Franklin County Campus. New officers are elected each year in September. The organization is open for membership to any full-time or part-time student enrolled in the Medical Assisting program or taking any of the Medical Assisting courses.
Advisor is Patrice Allen (Franklin Campus – Room F1202).
