At VGCC, our Cosmetology program includes a full-service, student-operated salon where stylists-in-training build confidence by sharpening their customer service skills alongside their beauty expertise. It's hands-on learning that prepares students for success long before graduation.

One of the highlights of our summer was teaming up with Granville County Public Schools to offer one of the nation’s very first Careers Electric™ Summer Academies 🔌💥
Eleven GCPS students spent the last eight weeks in the immersive career exploration experience, building a foundational knowledge of the trade through a combination of work-based learning and VGCC credit classes. (And getting paid for it!)
Among the biggest wins? Even before taking their final exam this week, at least one participant had already landed a real job with the local employer he worked with this summer 💪👏
Thanks again to Siemens and the NC Business Committee for Education for making this opportunity possible—we can’t wait to do it again next year!
