Nikita Rodebaugh is a 2025 Vance-Granville Community College graduate, having earned her Associate in Applied Science degree in Office Administration. For over two years, she has been a dedicated member of our work-study program. Even after graduation, Nikita never wavered in her commitment to her responsibilities. She has consistently served both our students and staff. Whether answering questions from lost students in the hallway or delivering mail across campus in the scorching heat, Nikita has truly been a tremendous asset to the VGCC family.
Out of genuine care and admiration, many of our staff members began to ask, “What’s next for Nikita?” Their concern quickly turned into action as conversations began about how we might retain her at the College as she embarked on her professional journey. Those ideas reached Vice President Dr. Jerry Edmonds—and that’s when the real magic happened.
Dr. Edmonds, Vice President Dr. Kim Sepich, College & Career Readiness Director Adwanna Howard, and Continuing Education Registrar Jennifer Allen collaborated to find a position for Nikita within our institution. On what Nikita believed would be her last day, the CCR staff gathered to surprise her. Instead of saying goodbye, she received the exciting news that she would be staying with us.
Nikita is now employed by NCWorks, serving at VGCC as a College & Career Readiness Customer Service Assistant. In this role, she will continue to grow, learn, and develop the skills needed to become the exceptional assistant she aspires to be.
Seeing students like Nikita Rodebaugh achieve professional and personal success fuels the work we do here at Vance-Granville. We are incredibly proud of Nikita—please help us celebrate her today! She has worked tirelessly to reach this moment, and she truly deserves a seat at our table.
