VGCC Seminar seeks to help the Stressed maintain Energy

Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center will offer a free seminar, entitled “Staying Energized in a High-Stress Workplace,” from 9 a.m. until Noon on Tuesday, Sept. 28 in room 7107 of Building 7 on the college’s main campus in Vance County.

“Knowing how to renew yourself is one of the key skills in today’s high-stress workplace,” according to the instructor for the seminar, Mike Collins of Raleigh, president of The Perfect Workday Company. Collins, who has led numerous well-received seminars at VGCC, has a bachelor’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and a master’s degree from Duke University. He presents over 100 programs a year for organizations such as IBM, American Express, Pepsi-Cola and the Duke University Medical Center, typically focused on workplace effectiveness issues.

This presentation will offer practical, easy-to-use tips, tactics and strategies to help participants stay at peak performance, including the use of music, preventing “difficult” people from ruining one’s day, and how to keep from taking the stresses of the workday home.

VGCC Small Business Center Director Diane Finch advised that space is limited for this free seminar. To reserve a seat, pre-register by calling the Small Business Center at (252) 738-3275 or 738-3240.
