VGCC Seminar helps Businesses market on a budget

An upcoming free seminar offered by Vance-Granville Community College will appeal to local small businesses looking for solutions in a difficult economy. The Small Business Center seminar, entitled “Marketing in Tough Times,” will be held from 9 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, Dec. 14 in room 7107 of Building 7 on the college’s main campus in Vance County.

Mike Collins of Raleigh, president of The Perfect Workday Company, will lead the three-hour seminar. Collins, who has led numerous seminars at VGCC, will discuss how to plan a low-cost marketing program, how to identify the best types of media, and how to design a public relations program. Participants will leave with dynamic approaches to public awareness.

Collins has a bachelor’s degree in radio, television and motion pictures from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree from Duke University. He is a member of the American Management Association, the Creative Education Foundation and the Guerrilla Marketing Association, and is certified as a “guerrilla marketing coach.”

VGCC Small Business Center Director Diane Finch advised that space is limited for this free seminar. To reserve a seat, pre-register by calling the Small Business Center at (252) 738-3275 or 738-3240.
