VGCC Seminar focuses on Credit Scores

Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center will present a free seminar, “Improving Your Credit Score,” on Thursday, Jan. 20. The seminar will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in room 7107 of Building 7 on the college’s main campus in Vance County.

The instructor, Greg Frank of Raleigh, will describe the importance of a person’s FICO score, which is used for more than just granting credit. Topics include how the FICO score is determined, how credit bureaus operate, how to build and maintain positive credit, and why paying off old collections will not improve one’s credit. Participants will learn strategies to dramatically improve their credit scores in as little as three to six months.

VGCC Small Business Center Director Diane Finch advised that space is limited for this free seminar. To reserve a seat, pre-register by calling the Small Business Center at (252) 738-3240 or 738-3275.
