VGCC offers Small Business Seminar on getting Organized

Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center will present a free seminar that will help business owners, managers and other area residents to improve their organizational skills with an eye toward saving time and money. The seminar, entitled “Getting and Staying Organized,” will be held on Tuesday, March 6 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in room 7107 of Building 7 on the college’s main campus in Vance County.

Experts say that the average American worker loses at least two weeks’ worth of time each year looking for lost or misplaced items. This seminar can help participants to avoid the costly clutter and personal disorganization that causes stress. Topics include: how to reduce clutter; how to quickly find what you need; how to maximize space; the “four pile” strategy for dealing with information; the single most important piece of office furniture; and how to find the always-elusive “more time.”

Mike Collins, who is president of The Perfect Workday Company in Raleigh and has led numerous seminars at VGCC in the past, will be the instructor for the three-hour seminar.

VGCC Small Business Center Director Diane Finch advised that space is limited for this free seminar. To reserve a seat, pre-register by calling the Small Business Center at (252) 738-3275 or 738-3240.
