VGCC Holds Seminar on Employee Performance Evaluations

Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center will offer a free seminar on employee performance evaluations in October. The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. until noon on Thursday, Oct. 23 in room 7107 of Building 7 on the college’s main campus in Vance County.

Harry Ponder of Weaverville will lead the seminar, in which businesses can learn about the purpose of an employee performance evaluation and about who is responsible for the success of an evaluation. Ponder will offer tips on the roles of the supervisor and of the employee in the evaluation process, as well as on handling disciplinary problems before evaluation time and on the legal aspects of evaluations.

VGCC Small Business Center Director Diane Finch advised that space is limited for this free seminar. To reserve a seat, pre-register by calling the Small Business Center at (252) 492-2061, ext. 3275 or ext. 3240.
