VGCC Warren Campus Offers Notary Public Course

A five-hour class for persons who want to obtain a North Carolina commission as a notary public will be held Monday, July 8, at Vance-Granville Community College’s Warren County Campus.

Classes will be held from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the campus on Ridgeway Street in Warrenton. Charlene Spence of Warrenton will be the instructor.

The purpose of a notary public is to prevent fraud and forgery. Students will learn what they may and may not do as a notary public. Students must be 18 or older, must be able to speak and write English, and must not have been convicted of a felony.

Cost of the course is $55, plus $16 for a textbook.
