VGCC Volleyball team goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Student-athletes on the Vance-Granville Community College women’s volleyball team have traded in their green and gold Vanguards colors for pink and white – during practice, at least. Players chose to recognize October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing specially-made practice shirts that feature the color that has become associated with the annual observance. On the backs of the shirts are the word “Fight” and a pink ribbon.

From left, VGCC volleyball players pictured wearing the shirts include English Stowe of Franklinton, Ymani Yancey of Oxford, Franceine Cole of Afton, Kara Reese of Henderson, Rachel Thomas of Louisburg, Caitlyn Robins of Creedmoor and Avery Allen of Henderson.
