VGCC to host Dr. Martin Luther King Holiday Gospel Fest on Jan. 11

Vance-Granville Community College’s Civic Center will once again be filled with the harmonious voices of area church choirs in a program that honors the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. The Gospel Fest will be held in the Civic Center on VGCC’s Main Campus in Vance County on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 at 6:30 p.m.Among the groups participating in this year’s program are the Shady Grove Community Choir, Oxford First Baptist Church, Crystal River Church of God and Spring Street Baptist Church. Admission is free, and the public is invited.Renowned speaker Delano Rackard of Raleigh will share with the audience excerpts from some of Dr. King’s well-known speeches.
