VGCC South Campus schedules Variety of Classes

Several courses are scheduled to begin in February at Vance-Granville Community College’s South Campus, offering all area residents opportunities to gain skills for use on the job or in their personal lives. South Campus is located on N.C. 56 between Creedmoor and Butner.

 

First, South Campus will hold a two-night course for people who want to obtain a North Carolina commission as a Notary Public. The class will be conducted from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6 and Tuesday, Feb. 7. Charlene Spence will serve as the instructor. To qualify to take the course, a person must be at least 18 years old, must be able to speak and write English, must be a high school or GED graduate, and must not have been convicted of a felony under state or federal law. The cost of the course includes a registration fee of $65, plus a $3 campus security/access fee and the cost of the textbook.

 

Photography: Basics and Beyond,” taught by Ivan Watkins, is scheduled for Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., Feb. 16 through April 5. The cost of the course is $65 plus applicable fees.

 

Another class will focus on Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, two of the most popular and widely used components of the Microsoft Office suite. The course is offered on Monday evenings, Feb. 27 through April 16. The instructor will be Michael Bacon. The cost of the course is $65 plus applicable fees.
