VGCC Schedules Fall BioWork Classes At Franklin County Campus

Vance-Granville Community College will be offering BioWork for Process Technicians classes in the fall of 2006 at its state-of-the-art Biotechnology Center at the Franklin County Campus in Louisburg.

BioWork is a statewide training course that prepares students for employment as process technicians within the areas of bioprocess, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing. BioWork is a rigorous 17-week curriculum that covers topics such as workplace safety, chemistry, process control, and microbiology. The curriculum also provides students with extensive ‘hands-on’ laboratory experience.

BioWork classes are scheduled at the Franklin Campus from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. There will also be a class offered on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m… Monday and Wednesday classes will start on August 23, with registration on August 16. Saturday classes will register and start on August 19 at 8 a.m.
