VGCC Schedules AutoCAD class on South Campus

Vance-Granville Community College’s South Campus will once again offer a class that teaches students about computer-aided drafting (CAD), using the AutoCAD software.

This course will be held on Monday nights, Feb. 2 through May 11, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in room G130 on the VGCC South Campus in Granville County.

AutoCAD is used in a variety of professions such as engineering, architecture, manufacturing and even landscaping and interior design. The AutoCAD LT 2008 software, the world’s number-one-selling two-dimensional drafting and detailing product, can streamline and simplify day-to-day tasks, thanks to tools built with the drafter in mind. Students need a good working knowledge of computers in order to take the AutoCAD class, but they do not need drafting experience. Jeff Arthurs will serve as instructor for the course.

The cost of the AutoCAD course is $60, plus a $3 technology fee, and a $1 campus access fee.
