VGCC Schedules AutoCAD Class in September at South Campus

Vance-Granville Community College will once again offer a class that teaches students computer-aided drafting (CAD), using the AutoCAD software.  AutoCAD software includes the two-dimensional drafting and detailing tool and three-dimensional design tools used by more designers worldwide than any other computer software.

This AutoCAD class will be held on Tuesdays, September 5 through December 12, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on VGCC’s South Campus, located on N.C. 56 between Butner and Creedmoor.

Students need basic computer skills in order to take the AutoCAD class, but they do not need drafting experience.  Upon completion of the course, the average student should be able to set up, draw, and print simple drawing exercises using various scales, viewports, and layout techniques.  AutoCAD is used in a variety of professions such as engineering, architecture, manufacturing and even landscaping and interior design.  Brian Harvey will serve as instructor for the course.

The cost of the AutoCAD class is $60, plus a $3 technology fee.  For more information and to register, call South Campus at (919) 528-4737 or (252) 738-3417.
