VGCC Plans Interior Design Class

A transplanted Philadelphian with 12 years experience working with home designers will teach an interior design course at Vance-Granville Community College, beginning Feb. 5.

Jodi Ruser said persons attending the classes will learn about color and how to apply it to create moods and different environments in the home. In addition to concentration on color schemes, Ruser will teach furniture placement, and creating focal points and inviting atmospheres.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in fashion design, Ruser owned her own design business in Philadelphia for 12 years. During that time, she worked with top home designers in the area.

Ruser moved to Oxford several months ago with her husband and two teen-age daughters, and she currently works at Lowe’s in Henderson in the Home Décor and Paint Section.

The interior design course will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursdays from Feb. 5 to March 25, in Room 7207 on the VGCC main campus in Henderson. Cost of the class is $30. For more information, call VGCC Continuing Education at (252) 738-3316.
