VGCC Plans Gospel Fest Jan. 10 To Honor Dr. Martin Luther King

Five area choirs and gospel groups will present a Gospel Fest on Jan. 10 at Vance-Granville Community College to honor the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, in the Civic Center at Vance-Granville’s main campus in Vance County.

Work in Progress, the Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Choir, Mt. Olive Baptist Church Youth Choir, Harriett Baptist Church Choir and Jubilant Voices of Praise Choir of Shiloh Baptist Church will all perform gospel songs during the program.

In addition, Delano Rackard, a Martin Luther King excerpt speaker, will present portions of Dr. King’s speeches.

Vance-Granville Community College is presenting this program and invites the public to attend. Admission is free.
