VGCC Offers Training For Unemployed, Underemployed At Warren Co. Campus

The Workforce Investment Act and Human Resources Development programs at Vance-Granville Community College will offer an intensive office skills training class at its Warren County Campus.

The 11-week class will begin Monday, Feb. 17, and run to Thursday, May 1, at the campus on Ridgeway Street in Warrenton. Class hours are 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday.

Students will be introduced to the basic concepts of using a microcomputer system. Emphasis will be placed on correct techniques in keyboarding skills, general operating procedures for computers and increased productivity through the use of several software packages. These include word processing, database, spreadsheets and graphics. General office skills will also be taught.
