VGCC offers Medication Aide course at Warren Campus

Vance-Granville Community College will soon offer a course at its Warren County Campus that allows local residents to qualify as a Medication Aide.

Classes will be held on the campus , located at 210 West Ridgeway Street in Warrenton, Monday, Sept. 27 through Thursday, Sept. 30, from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Registration takes place on Sept. 22 at 3 p.m.

Graduates of the Medication Aide course will be prepared to administer medications in a skilled nursing setting, and to sit for the state examination. Those who complete the course and the exam are qualified to be listed on the North Carolina Medication Aide Registry.

To register for the course, a student must have a high school diploma or GED and must be listed on the North Carolina Nurse Aide Registry as a CNA I in good standing.

The registration fee for the course is $65, in addition to a $3 campus access fee.
