VGCC Offers Free Seminar For Seniors On Estate And Tax Planning Strategies

A two-hour seminar entitled “Estate & Tax Planning Strategies Made Simple” will be presented free of charge for senior citizens Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Vance-Granville Community College.

Including specialized planning for IRA owners, the seminar will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the Seminar Room of Building 9 on VGCC’s main campus in Vance County. Ron Aricco, a chartered financial consultant currently employed by the Salvation Army, will conduct the seminar.

Attendees will learn about estate planning documents and which ones are needed, supervision of financial affairs and establishing planning priorities. Arrico will also tell them how to reduce or eliminate income tax, capital gains tax and federal estate tax, distribution planning for IRA owners, and how income can be increased in a low interest rate environment. Materials related to these issues will be provided.
