VGCC holds Blueprint course at South Campus

Vance-Granville Community College will offer a course on Blueprint Reading and Sketching at the college’s South Campus, located on N.C. 56 between Creedmoor and Butner. Classes are scheduled to begin Oct. 6 and end on Dec. 15. Students may choose from one of two schedules: Wednesdays and Fridays from 1 until 3 p.m., or Wednesday evenings from 6 until 10 p.m. Students should register by Friday, Oct. 1.

This course covers the basic principles of blueprint reading to include line types, dimensioning methods, projections and interpretation of details. Students will also learn basic sketching techniques. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to read and interpret blueprints and have the ability to create a simple blueprint.
