VGCC Franklin Campus Offers Gardening Class

Vance-Granville Community College’s Franklin County Campus is offering a Gardening class, starting Sept. 6. This course is ideal “for anyone who wants to spruce up their homes with beautiful flowers and plants, even if they don’t have a green thumb,” according to Franklin Campus director Anthony Pope.Classes will be held on Thursdays, from 6 until 9 p.m., on the Franklin campus, located on N.C. 56 about one mile west of Louisburg, from Sept. 6 through Oct. 27.Instructor Cheryl Kearns of Youngsville is a landscape designer, garden writer, lecturer and photographer with 15 years of experience. She will take students on a step-by-step journey to maintaining a beautiful home and yard, including successfully growing plants, soil preparation, growth habits and plant maintenance.The cost of the course is $45.For more information and to register, call (919) 496-1567.
