VGCC Franklin Campus offerings include Computers, Spanish, Teaching, Yoga

Several upcoming classes have been scheduled at Vance-Granville Community College’s Franklin County Campus near Louisburg, giving area residents opportunities to learn new skills for personal or workplace use.

 

The “Beginner’s Guide to Computers & Internet” is set to be offered on both a daytime and an evening schedule. One class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until noon, Jan. 17 through Feb. 9. The other class will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 until 9 p.m., Jan. 17 through Feb. 9. In this course, novice students will get an introduction to the common components and many uses of personal computers and of the Internet through the Windows environment. The cost of the course is a $65 registration fee, plus $5 in other fees. Registration fees are waived for N.C. resident seniors, ages 65 and above, for one course per semester.

 

Conversational Spanish” will be offered at Franklin Campus on Monday nights from 6 until 9 p.m., Jan. 23 through March 12. The cost of the course is $65.

 

A course to train new Substitute Teachers will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 until 9 p.m., Jan. 30 through Feb. 29. The cost of the course is $120.

 

Finally, a Yoga exercise class will be offered on Mondays and Thursdays from 6 until 8 p.m., Jan. 30 through March 8. The cost of the course is $54.
