VGCC Displays Retired Physician’s Photography

Photographs by retired physician Putlur Ramachandra Reddy will be on display at Vance-Granville Community College from Jan. 30 to Feb. 15.

Dr. Reddy served as a general practitioner and internist in Henderson and was on the medical staff of Maria Parham Hospital about 25 years until his retirement in 2000. Since then, he has traveled extensively and practiced his avocation of landscape photography. One of his pictures, “Reflection,” of a reflecting pool in Norway, won the top photography award in the Autumn Arts 2001 art show in October 2001.

About 20 of Reddy’s scenic landscapes from a trip to Nevada and Arizona, including the Grand Canyon, will be displayed in the lobby of VGCC’s Civic Center.

The public is invited to view Dr. Reddy’s photo display from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays, Jan. 30-Feb. 15.
