VGCC Computer classes start in October at Main Campus

Vance-Granville Community College will offer several of its popular computer-related classes for area residents during the day, starting in October on the college’s main campus in Vance County.

One course will focus on Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, two of the most popular and widely used components of the Microsoft Office suite, which have recently been revamped. Students will explore the new look and new features of the word processing and spreadsheet programs. This class will meet in room 7100 on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Oct. 15 through Nov. 19.

Another course will be offered on the Microsoft Access 2007 database program. This course is designed for students who wish to learn the basic operations of Access to perform their day-to-day responsibilities, and to understand the advantages that using a relational database program can bring to their business processes. Students will learn the critical skills needed to create a database and to enter, find, edit and report on the data it contains. The Access course will be held in room 7136 on Tuesdays, Oct. 21 through Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The cost of each course is $59, including fees. Registration fees are waived for seniors, age 65 or older.
