VGCC and Cooperative Extension partner to offer successful Leadership Class

Vance-Granville Community College recently partnered with N.C. Cooperative Extension to offer a one-day leadership class in Louisburg.

Rachel Monteverdi, a Family and Consumer Sciences agent with the Cooperative Extension office in Franklin County, was the instructor for the Dec. 5 class (pictured above), which was based in part on concepts from Stephen Covey’s “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.” Monteverdi is a “Covey Certified Facilitator.” The class was well-received by attendees, who included leaders from local government agencies and businesses. A total of 29 people completed the leadership training. Among them was Justin Ayscue, Human Resources Director for Granville County, who called the class “an excellent and insightful glimpse into becoming a more effective leader, both in your career and personal life. It definitely left me with a desire to dig deeper and learn more.”

Ayscue and others like him will have their chance when Cooperative Extension offers an in-depth “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” course, starting Jan. 31 and continuing through May 2014, on Fridays from noon until 2 p.m. For more information and to pre-register for that class, call (919) 496-3344 .
