Ten Graduate from VGCC Medication Aide Program

Vance-Granville Community College recently recognized ten students who completed the Medication Aide program at the college’s main campus in Vance County on June 25. The graduates are now ready to take their state Medication Aide exams.Pictured above, on the front row from left, are students Mischelle Henderson of Drewry, Carolyn H. The instructor for this group was Linda Hahnel, RN, BSN.Medication Aides pass medications in settings such as home-health agencies and skilled nursing facilities under the direction of a Registered Nurse. To register for a Medication Aide course, a student must have a high school diploma or GED and must be listed on the North Carolina Nurse Aide Registry as a CNA I in good standing. Students who successfully complete the course will be able to take a state exam and qualify to be listed on the North Carolina Medication Aide Registry.New Medication Aide courses are scheduled to begin during this summer and this fall.
