Seniors Learn about Computers at VGCC Warren Campus

Twelve Seniors from the Warren County Senior Center are finishing a “Beginners’ Guide to Computers and the Internet” class through the Warren County Campus of Vance-Granville Community College. The classes, which are held on Mondays, taught the Seniors the basic operations of the computer and internet surfing. The ages of the Seniors ranged from 63 to 85 years. The group includes a married couple taking the class together. Thirteen Seniors are already signing up to take the next computer class, which will begin in January. For more information on courses offered at the VGCC Warren Campus , call (252) 257-1900.The Warren County Senior Center offers many activities and services. These include exercise equipment, congregate and home delivered meals, arts and crafts, pool games, card games, Bingo, Bible study, Caregivers Support Group, Seniors’ Health Insurance Specialist, trips and more. Health professionals from the Warren County Health Department provide weekly exercise and nutrition information and activities. Other collaborations with the Center include the Warren County Recreation Department, the Warren County Schools and the Warren County Department of Social Services. Seniors 60 and over are welcome to participate in activities at the Center.
