Police officers and McGruff talk safety at VGCC Day Care

Vance-Granville Community College’s Day Care Center, located on the college’s main campus in Vance County, received special visitors on Oct. 24. Lt. Irvin Robinson and Sgt. Lamont Burchette of the Henderson Police Department, along with their friend, McGruff, the Crime Dog (pictured, center), dropped by to talk with the children about general safety and to offer safety tips for upcoming Halloween trick or treating. Burchette is the father of two students enrolled at the day care center, Layla and Lamont, Jr.
