Intermediate Conversational Spanish Class Begins June 14 At VGCC

Persons who have taken the beginning conversational Spanish class at Vance-Granville Community College have an opportunity to continue their studies in an intermediate-level class beginning June 14.

Classes will run for 10 weeks on Monday evenings from 7 to 10, from June 14 to Aug. 23, in Room 7207 on the main campus in Vance County.

Jose Grave de Peralta, who taught Spanish in Vance County schools for many years and who has taught VGCC Continuing Education course several years, will be the instructor.

Persons who have taken Peralta’s beginning Spanish classes will find the intermediate class will continue in the same textbook, and it will cover past, future and progressive tenses with the emphasis on conversation. Peralta said people who had high school or college Spanish and who want to brush up on their conversational skills will find the class useful. Students must attend 80 percent of the classes to receive a satisfactory certificate.

Registrations fee for the intermediate Spanish is $37.50. Those who have their textbook from the beginner class will not need a new one, and others will need $30 for a book.
