GOLDENLEAF FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP NOMINATIONS

The NC Community College System Office is accepting nominations from community colleges for GoldenLEAF scholarship funds. The Golden Leaf Foundation has allocated $300,000 for community college students for 2006.

Applications may be picked up in the Financial Aid Office and at the Satellite Campuses on Tuesday, January 17th. Applications should be returned to the Financial Aid Office in Building 8 by February 1st. Federal tax returns for 2004 may be required if the student has not completed a FAFSA for the 2005-06 academic year.

Students must be enrolled at least half-time and have financial need as determined by the Federal TRIO program household income guidelines. Additional criteria to be considered in the selection process include: academic record, effect of the declining economy, leadership/community service, and the possible effect of the declining tobacco industry.
