EXPO 2002 Early Birds Get The $$$
Members of the Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce and the Granville County Chamber of Commerce can save $20 by signing up early to participate in EXPO 2002.
The annual trade show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Vance-Granville Community College Civic Center. It is organized by the chambers of commerce of Vance and Granville counties and the VGCC Small Business Center.
Area businesses, industries and agencies can register for the Early-Bird Special by Friday, July 26, and pay $195 for a booth in the show. After that date it will cost them $215. The cost for businesses that are not members of the chamber is $380.
Annually, about 80 vendors set up displays in the Civic Center to demonstrate their products and services, and approximately 1,000 people from the community pass through the displays during the day. In addition, the exhibitors get to learn more about other businesses and organizations and to share information and ideas with them.
This will be the 13th consecutive year the EXPO has been held at Vance-Granville. Each year, business operators and managers praise the benefits of exhibiting at EXPO. Some past comments include:
“We made a lot of good contacts – both through customers and fellow vendors – and learned a lot about what’s available in the area’s retail market.”
“My business had been a repeat participant in the show for the last several years, and in that time our staff has met a lot of people and provided them with information about the construction field. I’m glad EXPO gave us that opportunity.”

Each year, several businesses sign on as Gold Sponsors or Silver Sponsors of EXPO. Sponsorship gets the companies special consideration in advertising and promotion of the event. This year’s Gold Sponsors are WIZS Radio 1450 AM, The Daily Dispatch, Wake Electric Cooperative, WICE Radio 98.3 FM, and The Butner-Creedmoor News. Silver Sponsors are McCracken Propane, Oxford Public Ledger, Staples, Servpro, The Franklin Times, WHLQ Radio 102.5 FM, and the Warren County Economic Development.
“We don’t want anyone left out who wants to participate – whether a newcomer to the event or one who has been with us since the inception of the show,” said Diane Finch, director of the VGCC Small Business Center.
All members of the Henderson-Vance County and Granville County chambers of commerce should have received brochures inviting them to participate in the Early-Bird Special.
