Comprehensive Office Assistant Course Offered In Summer By VGCC Computer Center

Vance Granville Computer Center will offer the popular, comprehensive Office Assistant class this summer on the main campus in Vance County.

This 112-hour course will meet Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. It will cover the entire Microsoft Office suite of software, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, as well as the features and commands used to combine and move work from one program to another.

Additionally, an overview of Windows and Internet usage is offered, making this class ideal for someone who has little or no computer experience to get a solid foundation in the most popular computer programs in use today. Students will also be taught keyboarding skills, using the popular Mavis Beacon software. Normally, these topics are covered in individual classes so this comprehensive class offers an excellent value.

There will be practice time built into the class schedule to help those with limited access to a computer have time to practice with an instructor present.

The class will start Tuesday, May 31, and run through July 8. The cost is $65 plus the text book cost of approximately $55. Some financial assistance is available for qualifying students.
