ANOTHER SCHOLARSHIP

Leon Turner, left, executive director of the Granville County Economic Commission, presents $6,000 to President Robert A. Miller of Vance-Granville Community College to endow the fourth Granville Industrial & Business Club Academic Achievement scholarship at the college. The GIBC also started Academic Achievement awards in honor of John K. Nelms and in honor of Betty Hicks. Funds for the latest scholarship were raised by the annual golf tournament sponsored by the club at South Granville Country Club on Aug. 22.
