Ambassador Spotlight – Stephanie Parrish

Meet Stephanie Parrish, Human Services Technology major from Creedmoor.

Stephanie became an Ambassador because she “wanted to get more involved with the students of VGCC.”

She says that the instructors and staff are very helpful, and that she does not feel like she is ‘lost in the crowd’.

Concentrating in substance abuse counseling, Stephanie speaks very highly of instructor Tracy Wallace, stating that he was instrumental in her learning process.

Married with two children, Stephanie wears many hats in her busy life. She is a Girl Scout leader for her daughter’s Brownie troop, a volunteer for MADD (having started the Granville County chapter), Guardian Ad Litem for both Franklin and Granville counties, and a demonstrator for Stampin’ Up! craft products.

As a student, she is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Human Services Club, and the VGCC Ambassadors.

Her long-range plans include attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and obtaining a master’s in social work.

Stephanie, her husband, Robert, and their two children, Justina and Samuel, reside in Creedmoor.
