All tickets claimed for U.S. Navy’s Sea Chanters Free Concert at VGCC

All of the free tickets available for the U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters Concert, scheduled for Friday, Feb. 20, and hosted by Vance-Granville Community College, have been distributed.

There still may be an opportunity for non-ticket holders to attend the concert, however, according to VGCC Director of Communications James Edwards.

According to U.S. Navy Band guidelines, the doors will open at 7 p.m. for the concert. The show will start at 7:30 p.m. Ticket holders are requested to arrive at the VGCC Civic Center before 7:10 p.m. in order to get seats with the tickets they have received.

As of 7:15 p.m., the general public will be admitted. Non-ticket holders may wish to attend just to see if any seats will be available from those who received tickets but were not able to attend. The college will give empty seats to anyone without tickets to ensure a full house.

The 20-voice Sea Chanters chorus, accompanied by a three-piece rhythm section, will perform a variety of styles ranging from patriotic selections to Broadway show-stoppers.

The concert is being co-sponsored by the Butner-Creedmoor News, The Daily Dispatch, The Franklin Times, the Oxford Public Ledger, The Warren Record and WIZS 1450-AM.
