Apprenticeship Information for Employers
The Vanguard Apprenticeship Collaborative at Vance-Granville Community College is now sponsoring companies using our registered apprenticeship program. What does this mean for you? Our college:
- Drafts documentation for your company’s work processes, curriculum standards, and progressive wage scales (as determined by company)
- Assists with recruitment of apprentices and funding opportunities to sustain programs
- Maintains quality of program ensuring compliance with regulations and monitoring each apprentice’s progress
A Registered Apprenticeship vs. A Sponsored Apprenticeship
What is the Difference between a Registered Apprenticeship and a Sponsored Apprenticeship?
With a Registered Apprenticeship Program, the employer is responsible for creating their registered apprenticeship program through guidance by Apprenticeship NC. Through a Sponsored Apprenticeship Program, the employer is sponsored by VGCC and our institution handles all aspects of apprenticeship, including:
- Recruitment
- Documentation
- Related Instruction
- Tracking of apprentices
