Davis Named OST Program Head

In addition to the naming of a new vice president and two deans, VGCC President Robert A. Miller has named Linda Davis as program head/instructor for the Office Systems Technology program, to succeed Marsha Nelson, the new dean of curriculum.

Linda Davis has been a part of the Office Systems Technology program at VGCC for 19 years. Prior to her employment with Vance-Granville, Davis taught in the Vance County Public Schools and at Piedmont Technical Community College.

Davis holds a bachelor of arts degree from Meredith College and a master of science degree from North Carolina Central University.

In addition to having taught almost every course offered in the OST program, Davis has also taught Business Administration and Accounting classes for the college.

As the program head for the OST program, Davis envisions continued growth and high student retention rates for her department. She cites well-trained instructors and the latest equipment as essential for maintaining the high standards for which the OST program is known.

“Keeping the college abreast of the latest technology in use in area businesses, training our students sufficiently and meeting the area job market demands are all key to a continued successful OST program,” Davis said.
