Meet Deja Williams

Deja Williams is a master hairstylist, salon owner, mother of three, and the visionary founder of Hairoin Salon Spa, a luxury beauty destination based in Morrisville. Her journey into beauty didn’t begin with hair; it began with a deep curiosity and a love for science. With a background in chemistry and public health, Deja approaches beauty from the inside out, blending technical expertise with a passion for confidence, culture, and care.

After graduating from the Aveda Institute, Deja set out to reimagine the salon experience (especially for people of color) by creating a space that delivers high-quality services with intention, education, and precision. Hairoin Salon Spa is now known for its focus on healthy hair, silk presses, color, and hair extensions.

Her work has reached international stages, including collaborations at New York Fashion Week with Marc Jacobs, brand activations at the Dreamville Festival, and product placement in Nordstrom with her salon’s haircare line, Hairoin Beauty.

Through her nonprofit, Hair 2 Help, Deja provides services, mentorship, and confidence-restoring treatments to women experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, and cancer patients in partnership with Duke University Medical Center.

Above all, Deja is committed to creating impact—uplifting her guest, mentoring the next generation of beauty professionals, and showing that when you merge creativity with purpose, the possibilities are endless. Her story is one of passion, perseverance, and purpose, proving that beauty, when done with heart and vision, can change lives.

Earlier participants in this series included Adrian Marable and Demetria Toomer.
