Former Vanguard Ayesha Rogers, who graduated in 2019 with her Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education, is now the proud owner and operator of her very own licensed childcare facility: the Imagination Station Academy in Henderson. The vision and determination it took her to reach this career milestone is a perfect example of the Vanguard spirit!
Ayesha decided to purchase a childcare center in 2020. In 2022, she took her next big leap of faith. She left her other job, committed to the role of Center Director, and began renovations on the facility. Renovations were completed in January, and the center officially opened its door for service last week.
Dr. Tracey Bennett Carter, head of the Vance-Granville’s Education, Early Childhood Education, and Lateral Entry programs, visited the facility to get a tour from her former student shortly before it opened for business. “I kind of feel like a proud mom here,” gushed Dr. Carter.
Ayesha has spread the word about the quality education she received at Vance-Granville, encouraging others to pursue their credentials too. She and Dr. Carter have even helped some of the Imagination Station staff sign up for classes to further their skills.
