New VGCC Golf Coach looking forward to 2013 season

Bobby Paff has been named the new head coach for the golf team at Vance-Granville Community College.

A native of Charleston, West Virginia, Paff (pictured above) grew up in Winston-Salem and today lives in Creedmoor with his wife and three children. Paff has over 30 years of experience as a PGA Golf Professional in both the public and private club settings. During his career, he developed a specific expertise in teaching golf to players at all levels of experience, from the basic fundamentals to the mental strategies of the game. In his leisure time, he enjoys other sports, such as tennis, hunting and fishing. Paff has also served as a tennis coach for South Granville High School.

Paff is currently recruiting players for the spring 2013 season. As in past seasons, Henderson Country Club is set to serve as VGCC’s home course. The VGCC golf program is open to both men and women. The Vanguards compete in National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II, which includes a variety of community colleges and private colleges in North Carolina and other states. To be eligible to participate in athletics at VGCC, student-athletes must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 semester hours) in a curriculum program and meet various NJCAA requirements.
