This fall, college teams from across the nation will come together at the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) 2023 Annual Conference to compete for a share of $150,000. VGCC has been selected as a finalist for the NACCE Pitch for the Skilled Trades Competition, which will take place October 29–November 1 in Nashville, TN.

Pitch for the Skilled Trades is a competition opportunity sponsored by the Philip E. & Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation, offering faculty, staff, administrators, and presidents from NACCE member colleges the chance to pitch to a panel of judges and potentially win funding! Competitive projects are those demonstrating the greatest economic impact on the local level with respect to jobs created, employment obtained, income earned, and businesses launched.

According to their website, NACCE is America’s leading co-creator and distributor of resources to transform underserved communities through community college engagement. NACCE represents 330+ community and technical colleges which serve over four million students.

At last year’s NACCE conference, teams from Vance-Granville Community College won $60,000 in funding across two competitions. The College also won NACCE’s with 2022 Entrepreneurial College of the Year Award.
