The Vance-Granville Community College Foundation invites you to join them at a wine & beer tasting gala and silent auction on April 13 from 6 – 9 p.m. Centered on the theme “Be the Light in a Student’s Life,” the event is a benefit fundraiser to support students facing unforeseen financial crises.

Unexpected burdens can easily derail some students. Having initiatives like a stocked food pantry, emergency assistance, transportation vouchers, and career closet, The VGCC Foundations steps in to meet students’ basic needs when the unexpected gets in the way of their academic progress. The Foundation stands with VGCC students at all times but especially during the difficult ones; your attendance at this premier event will enable VGCCF to stand ready when students need help most.

The wine & beer tasting gala is the first to be hosted by The VGCC Foundation. An array of wineries will serve a variety of their signature wines including reds, whites, bubbly, and more. Oxford’s Tobacco Wood Brewing Company will also be on hand showcasing their craft beers. Guests will enjoy pairings of a variety of sweet and savory foods including seafood, chicken, beef and more.

Attendees will receive a souvenir wine glass and have the option to purchase their favorite finds. In addition, a variety of silent auction items will be on display for bidding throughout the evening. A short program showcasing students who have benefited from donor contributions will open the evening, and local students will provide the event’s entertainment.

The event’s primary sponsor is HighRock Farms , which also serves as its venue. Owned by Beth and Dave Hollister, HighRock Farms is a breathtakingly beautiful 200-acre property located at 2317 Enon Road in Oxford. The venue is handicap accessible.

Dress for the evening is business attire.
