VGCC Community Band to present Spring Concert

The VGCC Community Band will perform in Henderson on Monday, May 1.

The Vance-Granville Community College Community Band will present their Spring Concert on Monday, May 1 at 7:30pm. This free concert, which is open to all members of our community, will take place at McGregor Hall Performing Arts Center in Henderson. It will be a full evening for all ages.

“This is going to be a super concert,” commented Brian Miller, VGCC Band Conductor and Music Instructor. “The band has worked so hard, and they sound great!”

Some of the selections featured in the concert will include “The Black Horse Troop March” by J.P. Sousa, “In a Chinese Temple Garden “by A.W. Ketelbey, and “The Typewriter” by L. Anderson/Trans. Morgan.

The VGCC Community Band offers free membership to area musicians. The band rehearses on Monday nights during the academic year; rehearsals take place in the Civic Center of VGCC’s Henderson Campus.
